Molang Kindness Club: Learn to manage your emotions with Mulk
In this fourth episode of Kindness Club, Molang has a hard time managing their emotions, especially when a too-cute cat shows up to cuddle... How can they resist?! 🥺 To help them out, our two YouTubers welcome a guest who's not to be messed with: Mulk! Discover his invaluable advice for staying zen in all (or almost all) circumstances!
What does it mean to control your emotions?
First, mastering your emotions doesn't mean controlling them. We can feel strong emotions such as sadness or anger, without trying to contain them at all costs. On the contrary, it's healthier to try to understand the origin of your emotions, as Mulk does when he understands the origin of his anger.
Managing your emotions means learning to implement strategies to better listen to, talk to and calm yourself. These strategies can be many and can be adapted to individual needs.
As Mulk advises, you can play sports, listen to music, do some shopping and enjoy Molang outlet or relax. The key is to do something you enjoy and that makes you feel good.
Controlling our emotions also means deconstructing our defense mechanisms (withdrawing into ourselves, burying our emotions, having low self-esteem, etc.)
Turn your emotions into strength!
(without the urge to smash everything 💪)
Once we've identified our emotional charge, in other words recognized the emotions that run through us and the degree to which they affect us, we can act on the place our emotions take in our lives.
If, for example, like Mulk, you can't manage to calm your anger, there are several methods you can use to regulate your emotions: breathing, visualization, positive language, therapeutic workshops, etc. To help you calm down, you can also surround yourself with your favorite Molang kawaii plush!
The other fundamental step in taming your emotions is emotional maturity. Emotional maturity isn't something you're born with; it's a daily learning process that requires you to take a step back from yourself.
Increasing and cultivating emotional maturity requires us to be attentive to others, to inform ourselves, to step out of our comfort zone, to think before we act and to be responsible.
Finally, thanks to these steps, we can turn our emotions into strength, something rewarding. For example, Piu Piu thinks Molang is a little “too” sensitive and gets emotional too easily. Yet being sensitive can also be an asset, showing a certain empathy towards others.
Mulk's tips for managing your emotions
- Learn to know the origin of your emotions (I know why I like to smash everything now!!!💥)
- Avoid IRRITATING NOISES!!! Huuum I inhale... I exhale 🧘🏼
- Do some physical activity to let off steam (without turning green is better) 💚
- Communicate better with those around you 👨👩👧👦
Where can I find help to look after my mental health?
Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by our emotions and can't get our heads above water. If this is the case, it's important to act quickly.
If you or a Pinco needs help, first talk to those closest to you, whether family or friends, as their help can be invaluable. But sometimes the help of those closest to us is not enough.
In this case, it's just as important to turn to medical professionals such as a psychologist or General Practioner.
